When did lockdown 3 start in 2021? And when is it going to end in England? Here's the important roadmap out of lockdown dates and when all coronavirus restrictions will be over.

In January 2021, Boris Johnson confirmed England would start a third national Covid-19 lockdown, with all schools and non-essential shops closing as the public were asked to work from home once more.

Now, on the roadmap out of lockdown, an end date is in sight for all coronavirus restrictions with some major changes coming on 12th April including the reopening of non-essential shops, gyms and hairdressers.

Here’s the latest information regarding England’s third lockdown, including when it started, and when the lockdown is predicted to be over:

When did the third national lockdown start in England?

Boris Johnson addressed the nation on January 4th and explained England would go into another lockdown the following day, January 5th.

Following a huge increase in Covid cases and the discovery of a faster spreading variant, the closure of schools and all non-essential shops was announced.

Lockdown review date: When does lockdown end in England?

Number 10 and Boris Johnson confirmed his roadmap for easing lockdown on 22 February.

Overall, the end of lockdown completely is scheduled for 21 June, however, there are steps and key dates before then that must be successful before we reach a complete lockdown end.

Currently, schools in England were officially allowed to reopen on 8th March with a further four steps to stagger out the reopening of non-essential shops, beauty, restaurants, pubs and every other business impacted by the coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
